Collection: THE BANDHEJ EDIT

Bandhej, also known as Bandhani, is one of India’s traditional tie-dye crafts, with deep roots in Gujarat and Rajasthan. The name comes from bandhan, meaning “to tie” — a reference to the painstaking process of pinching and tying tiny sections of fabric before it is dyed. When the threads are removed, they reveal the distinctive dots and patterns that make Bandhej instantly recognisable.

Traditionally made by skilled artisans, Bandhej is celebrated for its vibrant colour, intricate patterning and the individuality created by the hand-tied process. Gujarat remains an important centre for the craft, particularly across Kutch, Jamnagar and the surrounding regions.

For The Bandhej Edit, we bring this heritage into a more contemporary wardrobe. Bandhej is paired with clean, understated tops, dramatic super-flared pants, sheer dupattas and delicate handwork — allowing the print and colour to take centre stage.

Available in pink, red, green, blue and purple, the edit is our modern take on a craft that has always been about colour, celebration and the beauty of something made by hand.
